TP-Link RE315
Consider an extender for a local coverage problem, then check whether your router and the proposed outlet location are a good match.
AC1200 range extender · Buying notes updated October 8, 2026
Why it made the picks
The RE315 is a dual-band range extender with a signal indicator that helps you find a suitable location relative to your router. TP-Link also lists an Ethernet port. Those are useful points to compare if you want to improve coverage near a particular room without starting with a whole-home replacement.
Before you buy
- Check compatibility with your existing router and any mesh features you want to use.
- Choose a location that still receives a useful router signal.
- Look at the Ethernet specifications if you plan to connect a wired device.
- Account for walls, interference and your device’s capabilities when comparing speed claims.
When to pause
An extender is not a promise of faster internet everywhere. TP-Link says real throughput and coverage vary with the environment, network and connected devices. For a problem spread across several rooms, compare other network layouts before buying.
